Our FAQ

FAQs

Q: Can you translate this for me? Do you take requests?

A: No and Yes. Futari wa Pretty Anon does take requests, but only when we ask for them. Usually we are far too busy to take on another request. When we finish a series, we will usually pin a Requests post on the front page asking for new series to take a look at. However, if we are not accepting requests at the time, please do not ask us to take on new series – your request will be forgotten about and ignored.

Q: I found this book on eBay / Amazon. Could you translate it?

A: No. See the above question. When we are taking requests, we appreciate requests of series that have raws online already. If you would like us to translate something that is available for purchase online, please buy it and scan it in yourself.

Q: What language do you translate? Can you translate these Chinese raws?

A: No. Our translator knows Japanese and Japanese only. We refuse to translate from another language’s translation, either. Things usually end up getting messed up between languages.

Q: Can I use your chapter on my reader / this website / this video?

A: Yes, as long as you give us credit.  If you’re posting it to a reader, always leave our credits page and translation notes in with the release. As long as that’s done, you can post our pages wherever you like and do whatever you want with them.

Q: Can I translate one of the series you are doing into my language?

A: Absolutely! If you are using our scans as raws, please credit us. Also, we’re more than happy to provide Japanese raws and cleans for your use if you email us at korewaprettyemail@gmail.com . We love seeing the manga we love in all sorts of languages!

Q: When are you going to post Chapter XX? Why did you postpone a release?

A: We are humans, unfortunately, so we may not always be able to get releases out on time. 99% of the time we’ll post an update with an estimated release date for the chapter we’re behind on. For more info, check out our Release Schedule.

Q: What does “Anon” stand for? Where does your group name come from?

A: “Anon” stands for “Anonymous”, which comes from the common 4chan username Anonymous. Black and White began FwPA after scanlating comics on /a/ for a while, and that’s why everyone from that era is codenamed “Anonymous” or “Anon”.

Our group name is a parody of the anime Futari wa Pretty Cure, something both Anon Black and Anon White were obsessed with at the time of founding FwPA. You should check it out. A good season to start with is Heartcatch Precure.

Q: You made a mistake somewhere!

A: Tell us about it right away! You can post here, on the post of the release, or send us an email. We’ll try to fix it as soon as we can.

Q: How can I join Pretty Anon?

A. We welcome all the help we can get. However, we have some basic guidelines:

1) Be experienced with cleaning / translating / typesetting / scanning. This isn’t necessary, but is recommended, as FwPA moves faster than some other scanlation groups. Most of our series are released within three days of receiving raws, so we’ll need you to move at the same pace as our other members at a high quality. We are willing to train new members, however, this means you probably won’t be able to work on our larger releases until we feel satisfied with your quality of work.

2) Be online (IRC) frequently and have good communication with other group members. Communication, via IRC and Dropbox, are incredibly important, especially during a busy release period. If you can’t check in at least once a day, you may want to reconsider joining.

3) Be comfortable working independently. Since switching to using Dropbox, most members work independently. You’re allowed to claim whatever ‘job’ or whatever manga you’d like to do; however, once you claim a job, you must complete it sooner than later, or you’ll lose the job. If you feel comfortable working on your own, and moving at your own pace, then FwPA is the group for you.

If you think you could be a good addition to the team, don’t hesitate to email us. Applications are always welcome!

Any other questions can be emailed to us. Follow the “Contact Us” link at the top of the page!

Hi I was wondering if you did the scan for Sayonara Piano Sonata, because I cannot find it on this site and I wanted to download the song from the zip.

Yes, we buy and scan in all our own scans for our site.

The song should be included in the zip as an mp3.
