Shugo Chara Matters!

Congratulations to Noa, whose entry was picked among many others as the best in its class!

Shugo Chara is the key to my heart, aka. a favorite of all favorites of mine. But once upon a time, not to long ago even, I thought it was really childish looking when compared to Zombie-Loan. However one day, I found a AMV and saw it may of been deeper than I had thought. So I gave it a try and though it was different from what I expected, I wasn’t disappointed with it in the least because of the plot and real focus of the story, the one aside from Ikuto and Amu or Amu and Tadase. I loved how the story seemed to push its way into my heart and turn like a key with a click.

It clicked deep down into a part of me that wanted to change into something new and change into something I’d like better for myself like everyone else does before they “grow up”. Yet up in till a while ago the story really didn’t do anything more for me other than pull at my heart strings. But, then I irrationally quit my job on a whim when I couldn’t take the work and people much anymore. And soon after, I found myself looking for my “character change”, and subconsciously found the story helping me searching for myself and looking for that egg of mine. And when I finally found it, it hatched fairly quickly into my “shugo chara”. And now I’m taking bartending courses in the hopes of passing and becoming the bartender I’ve always wanted to be. And I am much happier than I was before. And it’s partly thanks to Shugo Chara. A story that is better than good, and one of the first manga’s that I believe should novels because it’s good enough to be one and there is more to know. Or, at very least, it should have Tsukasa’s story, Kokoro no Tamago, published in the real world as a real children’s book. (I’d love to buy it!) ….Anyways, that is why it matters to me. …If you didn’t get what I was trying to say though, then let me say it with these last words of mine: Shugo Chara means a lot to me (especially now) because it gets you thinking about yourself and what you want to be. And when it comes down to those types of certain life changing situations, it is something that gives you “advice”, helps you along, and unlocks your heart or your mind so that you can see what you want.

Once again, thank you to all of our participants!!

Shugo Chara Days! is now over.

Stay tuned in the next few months for more contests!

XD I din’t win. I wasn’t expecting to either. I said I was going to enter everything and then got too lazy to do anything. My banner sucked. But the important thing was that I tried. Right? Yea, I’m right. Anyway, conrats to those who did win and I LOVE the banner!

Yay~ you posted this on my b-day ^-^ well, the two banners are gorgeous. Stunning, beautiful, you get the point. I love both of them but if it comes down to more effects and originality, for me, I would choose numero 2 :3 (mostly because I’ve seen a lot of banners with a reflection and light colors) but I still lurve banner 1 8D

LOL at the two edited pictures XD

Can I say DEEP for the essay above? But I completely agree with that person. (is a girl or boy?) All of it was true for many people and has inspired people to follow their dreams.

Can’t wait for more upcoming contests ^-^

Much thanks to “Futari Wa Pretty Anon” and their contribution to the English speaking manga community. They took up this project when no one else did and delivered high quality scanlations in short periods of time. Amongst “Shugo Chara” readers, they will not be forgotten and will be remembered along with such names as “Mobots”, “AngelicPowder” and “SugarPowder”. Never forget.

Also, cheers on the winners and runner-ups for the first two contests. Dissappoint follows:

However, I am disappointed by the winning entry “Shugo Chara Matters!” and wonder how the losing ones must have compared. The sentence structure and thought order leave much to be desired, but most notably when first reading are the frequent grammar mistakes.

    >>not to long ago
    not too long ago

    >>it may of been deeper
    it may have been deeper

I guess this is to be expected considering the target demographic of middle school to perhaps high school girls.

One of the key focuses of entry are the allusions of the author’s experiences reading the series to “Shugo Chara”. These get overplayed quickly becoming cliched and losing their sentiment. Perhaps I am wrong, and the manga did mean that much to the author who has the innocence of a five year old girl. Personally, the series was enjoyable to read, but certainly nothing life changing and anything like some sort of religious awakening. I may be heartless in that sense, but the lack of the author’s writing ability is fact.

That was the date that the chapter comes out in Japan. It takes a little while longer for it to come out in English.

I think the banners are just AMAZING! Great job to the winners!

And Noa did a phenominal job at describing what Shugo Chara! did for him. I think it’s exactly accurate, and I can totally relate with him. Shugo Chara! makes me sincerely want to be a better person, and the days I think of it I always end up doing some good deeds because I want to be a better person. Shugo Chara! brings out the best in me, and I’ve found myself actually wishing exactly like Amu did in the first manga, too. xD I think Noa was completely right. Shugo Chara! is more than just a great manga.

GOOD FOR YOU, NOA! =D I hope that new job works for you, I know it will! <3 ^^

    CONGRATS TO THE WINNERS! <3
